What the common messages mean and what to do.

ratchet won't start

• A ✗ line at start-up: follow the fix printed next to it. Node must be 22.12 or later, and git must be installed.
• Running scripts is disabled (PowerShell): run ratchet.cmd, or Set-ExecutionPolicy -Scope CurrentUser RemoteSigned once.
• Claude Code is installed through npm (Windows): run claude install to get the native version.

ratchet stopped on this PC

The page lost its server. Run ratchet again. On the phone you see Your PC is offline with when it was last seen. Check the PC is awake and ratchet is running, then press Try now.

No pull requests

Check that gh auth status says you're signed in, and that the repo has a GitHub remote named origin.

Known gaps

• A permission prompt in an agent started outside ratchet shows as Working.
• There's no Stop button on agents yet. Close a session from Machine (Windows).
• Merging a pull request happens on GitHub.
• The PR shown on a branch can be up to about 30 seconds behind GitHub.
• Machine health and the crash banner are Windows only.
