ratchet checks your tools, starts its server and opens in your browser.

If Node is too old or git is missing, you see the fix and ratchet can't start until the ✗ lines above are fixed. If GitHub CLI or Claude Code is missing or signed out, ratchet starts anyway and shows a notice in the app saying what to install or run.

Port and address

ratchet listens only on 127.0.0.1, starting at port 4700. If that port is busy, it tries the next one. The link it prints carries a token that changes on every start, so another program on your PC can't open your dashboard by guessing the address.

Your first repo

When no repos are open, ratchet shows two buttons: Add repository and Find from Claude sessions. It also opens the repos of your Claude Code sessions from the last 24 hours by itself, so often your repos are already there.
