ratchet runs on your PC with your own logins. There's no ratchet account or server.

What ratchet reads

• Claude Code's session files in ~/.claude/projects.
• The repos you add.
• GitHub, through your own GitHub CLI login.
• The list of running processes, for Machine.

What leaves your PC

• Phone access goes over your own Tailscale network, PC to phone.
• Push alerts go through your phone's browser push service (Apple or Google) to reach the phone.
• PR file groups send the pull request's diff to Claude through your own Claude Code login.

Nothing else is sent anywhere by ratchet.

Hooks on agents ratchet starts

Agents ratchet starts get local hooks that report back to ratchet's own server on your PC. That's how it knows an agent wants permission, and how Away mode answers for it. Agents you start yourself are left alone.

Where ratchet keeps its data

Everything is in ~/.ratchet/ (%USERPROFILE%\.ratchet on Windows): your repos and the agents ratchet started, settings, paired phones, alert state, machine history and saved PR file groups. Delete the folder to reset ratchet.
